Swords Life on the Line – Swordfish TV Show

The Discovery Channel will air “Swords Life on the Line” on August 11th at 9pm.  Based on the commercial, the show looks to be a commercial fleet chasing swordfish and battling the elements with a twist of drama.   While the expectations of the show are unknown in comparison to the mega hit “Deadliest Catch”, recreational sword fisherman are hoping that the show represents the industry correctly, as it is a delicate one.

Commercial swordfish fleets had been responsible for the wipe out of swordfish in the 70’s and 80’s.  It was not until the closed zones were established that swordfish had a chance to rebound and allow for a recreational fishery to blossom.   Organizations such as the Swordfish Club, work hard to educate and share knowledge about one of the most elusive and respected fish in the world.

You can be sure that recreational fisherman as well as commercial will have their eye on this upcoming show and will speak their minds.
