Fishing Fort Lauderdale on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
Slight overcast today with the sun playing peek-a-boo behind the clouds with winds 5-10 mph from the east, northeast and 2-3 ft. seas.
Born to fish, forced to work! Joseph Kayza from Ohio is down here in Fort Lauderdale FL visiting his relatives. Joe is an avid fisherman, who just sold his boat, and was itching to go fishing. Joe, by himself, chartered the Happy Day Today to do some sport fishing Fort Lauderdale FL. With five rods out, I knew this would be fun for Joe. We had two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a purple and pink sea witch in front of a Ballyhoo Mullet strip and three surface baits.
Our first fish was a 14 lb. Kingfish followed by a couple more Kingfish in the 8-10 lb. class. From there, I decided to fly the Kites and do some live baiting. Ten minutes after flying the Kites the wind died, so we decided on Plan B and went Grouper fishing. From there, I went to a wreck, and we caught a nice Black Grouper.
With time running out at the end of the string, it was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
