Bodega

When we made the decision to live-a-board a few years ago, the Bodega fit the criteria. It's a comfortable floating condo. More amenities than a lot of apartments or affordable houses. Having 3 staterooms, the v-birth with bunks served perfectly for the extra storage needed, leaving the mid-ship stateroom and 2nd bath perfect for guests. If we were to do it all over again, this would be our same choice - not to mention the affordablity! Fuel economy with the dual deisels in awesome, and with an enclosed flybridge, it's like another full room! This is one to look at!

Bodega

I researched boats for the last 3 years for a spacious, livable cruser with aft cabin. The 40' Bayliner Bodega... is the one. It has a huge salon (with the space of a 50' yacht)... spiral stair case to the aft cabin; 2 heads and showers, huge command bridge that seats 12; large spacious engine room with 454 Crusader Engines (350hp); all fiberglass with real teak interior trim and solid teak doors. Dual controls -- in cabin and bridge... and these a few are available for under $100k in pristine condition. Check out yatchworld.com or boatsville.com

Bodega

Have looked at these boats for 2-3 years and find that in my budget of less than 70,000 US it was the best buy. Hull integrity seems to be good on all I looked at and can't beat them for space and layout. I have the Big Block 454 engines and this summer on a 3 week cruise got just under 1 KMPG including genset use ran at 8-9 knots. Have stayed on it 40+ nights since May and feel very comfortable all the time. the electric heaters do a good job down to about 30 degrees exterior temp.

Bodega

Researched liveaboards for three years in the 40Ft size with the following criteria: glass hull, Aft cabin, centre line double or better berth. Two heads.Large enough salon you can lay on the floor and watch tv and your spouse doesn't trip on you.Large command bridge. Easy access to work in engine room. economical to run at 8knts. (I have the Volvo's, total fuel burn including gen set = 3gph). Last but not least, maximum of $150,000 canadian. Go ahead, I think you will come up with the same answer. A bodega or possibly a 42 uniflite. True, I would not want to be in heavy weather on a continuous basis in this boat, but that is not my intended use! All in all very happy with the boat.
